What to ALWAYS Grab at the Store

We are ALL busy folks!  Under stress we often seek something quick as a solution, BUT there are healthy options out there rather than always whipping up mac and cheese or grabbing pizza.  When you’re at the store, these are some great options!

1.  Fresh Seafood – It’s meatless, rich in omega-3 fatty acids that help brain and heart health and also contains Vitamin D

2.  Plant-Based Snacks – These allow you to fill up on fiber and protein.  A few options are edamame, black bean dip with whole-grain crackers and there’s even plant-based mac n cheese available too!

3.  Fresh Produce – Frozen is okay, but fresh fruits and veggies are best when they are in season!  Pick out at least 5 different color (red, orange/yellow, green, purple and white) options at the store.  Tomatoes, peppers, green beans, blueberries and cauliflower are great to start with.

4.  Healthy Fats – Fat is good for you when you eat the right type.  Avocadoes, nuts, seeds, grass-fed butter and coconut oil are all examples of what to grab at the store.

5.  Pantry Staples – Every cook needs a few essentials around all the time.  Here’s a helpful guide for you:  olive oil, Balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper, favorite spices like garlic, Italian seasoning, etc., canned solid white tuna, beans, low-sodium chicken broth, organic marinara sauce, pasta, whole wheat rice/couscous/quinoa, plain yogurt (add coconut or honey to sweeten it), eggs, rotisserie chicken, natural bacon and 100% whole wheat or Ezekiel bread.

Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is valuable and all. However think of if you added some great photos or
video clips to give your posts more, “pop”!
Your content is excellent but with images and video clips, this site
could undeniably be one of the best in its niche. Fantastic blog!

Hi Lynda! Thanks for reaching out and your thought on additional images or video. I love the idea AND often create content to go along with my content, BUT I’m new to WordPress and not quite familiar with all the bells and whistles available here yet. Definitely something to dive into deeper!
